Jelly Bean To Spring

DSC01836Ok do you remember my Jelly bean wreath? Well after 2 years and a few drops lets just say it was time to get rid of it! Or was it?! It was defiantly ugly and faded and yes there was a few jelly beans that didn't survive. But I still had faith!DSC_0988I decided I wouldn't be out any money to try and revive it. I love the look of all the cool bean wreaths so I was hoping this would work minus the hours spend gluing on beans!DSC_2142 I added a coat of Krylon paint and already it was looking 100% better. Next I added a bow I loved the animal print! It pays to have a friend with more ribbon then most craft stores!DSC_2236 I could have stopped there and hid my broken jelly beans with the ribbon. But I decided to add a little more color with some felt flowers. I Love yellow and the 3 colors are so much fun!DSC_2242Ready to see my finished spring wreath?     DSC_2237

Personalized Graffiti Pots

I help with my church's Achievement Days program and we have the 10-11 year old girls. Yesterday I decided to let them make Mothers day gifts and I had to keep it simple we only have an hour!

Items Needed:

  • Terra cotta Pots
  • Sharpies
  • clear coat
  • flowers (you could even make flower pens for teachers!)

I simply told the girls to add all the fun words that reminded them of their moms. Grandmas would love them too!  Didn't they come out cute. It will easily work for any age. I also think these would make excellent Teacher appreciation gifts. Add a flower pen with some words like “Thanks for helping me Grow/bloom!”

So what are some of your fun ideas for Mother’s Day? Do you prefer homemade or bought?

Silk Hair Flower

What do you get a 20 year old for her Birthday? This was my thoughts for the last couple of weeks Well it finally came to me, accessories!!! Can any women ever have to many hair clips, necklaces, bracelets? No Way! Especially ones that turns pony tail (my everyday hair do!) into something that looks like it took time and effort (something else I am lacking lately!)
Items Needed
  • Fabric silk or satin works best,
  •  Lighter
  • Scissors
  • Hair Clip or something to attach your flower to
  • glue                  The first step is to cut some circles start with your largest one this will be the overall size of your flower and then go smaller until you have the desired number of circles you want.DSC08059
    DSC08058
The nest step is to use the lighter and go around the edges of your flowers just to melt if you do it to much they will catch on fire!! you can also run the lighter under the middle to give the circle more depth. I didn't take a picture of this because I needed both hands! The Husband would be pretty upset if I burned down the house on my 2nd craft post!! Once you have all your edges melted stack the circles biggest to smallestDSC08063 All that is left is to glue the circles together, add some beads or button to the center and glue to your hair clip.
DSC08065 Wear and Enjoy! Turns a messy bun into a styled hair do!                                          DSC08068And then make more!DSC08026
 ~Enjoy, Kori
