We are so excited to have Jenny here from Marine to a Housewife. She is helping start our new Welcome Wednesday guest posting! Jenny is here sharing some awesome projects (I am defiantly on the hunt for some of these items!). Also if you want to be a guest blogger shoot us an email!
Hi Everyone, thank you Kori and Tara for having me, I’m so excited to be here! Hi! I’m Jenny! I’m a former U.S. Marine and am currently working full time in San Francisco, a grad student and a mother to a very mobile 23 month old little boy while my husband is finishing school in Southern California.
Kori and Tara were nice enough to let me take the reins and talk about whatever I wanted so naturally I would love to share silly stories about my almost two year old little monster, but I’d thought I spare you and show you some of my projects; crafts and furniture makeovers.
I started blogging less than a year ago to journal and house my transition from being in the military to a mother, and to share some of my projects. Like most other DIYers, I love scouring thrift stores and stalking Craigslist for some awesome pieces to work with. So without further or due, here are some things I’ve worked…
This lovely sideboard that was actually a trial experiment in using black faux glaze and some bright oops paint..
Before:
After:
A manager’s special chair that called me name when I was leaving a thrift store..
Before:
After:
An entry way cabinet that I adore in Heirloom White..
Before:
After:
And for some crafts:
I created this memento for the hubs to be a constant reminder..
A DIY corkboard created from a thrift store frame..
I hope some of my projects inspire you to create something special. I love learning new things and definitely sharing them with others! I hope you start by Marine to a Housewife and say hello. =) Thank you Kori and Tara for letting me take over your blog for the day!
Cheers,
Jenny

Wow! What great transformations. I especially loved the sideboard - that new color is so pretty! And what a sweet plaque for your husband - lovely for your home decor. Thanks for a delightful visit for Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these pieces! It makes me want to really get into redoing furniture. Thanks for posting and thanks for linking up at Fancy Friday
